On the 21st of September, I witnessed the grand opening of the Chroma 265 exhibition, housed by Kelvin Todd, an artist at the CODA gallery in Taylor's University Lakeside Campus.

The exhibition is about displaying the collected results (colour squares and text) from different countries around the world. It shows what countries think about a particular title or theme, conveyed through colours and text. The exhibition was conducted for 3 years!

The relationship between the colour palette and text.

The aim of this exhibition is to create awareness of the cultural diversity of colour palette in different countries around the world. Kelvin Todd stressed the need for Google to generate information based on the colour palette of a country one belongs to because
nowadays search engines tend to globalize the information. This causes the uniqueness of colours in one's country be eroded by time.It is just like historical monuments, the colour palette resembles a unique culture of a country.

This exhibition is followed up by a talk given by Kelvin Todd the next following day. Basically, Kelvin talked about colours. There are two types of colour grouping, one is RGB, another is CMYK.

RGB is an ADDITIVE system.
CMYK is a SUBTRACTIVE system.
For most countries of the world, the colour palette chosen is mostly on the left quadrant of the colour wheel, that is falling under warm colours = red, orange and yellow.
It is fun seeing that different people see things differently with colours.

That's all for today. Ciao!
