[ASSIGNMENT 1] Green Issue Awareness

The future of our lives is greatly at stake with mass development of buildings for daily uses. We have colonized way more earth lands than our forefathers without realizing the impact on the environment. In this assignment, I am going to bring out the issue of green awareness in our daily living and it starts with the buildings that we always interact with.In this report, there are two parts relating about green issues, firstly, about the method of assessing how “green” a building is and secondly, how to apply the said method in assessing my own residential home.

GBI ASSESSMENT TOOLS ASSIGNMENT 1A

I get to familiarize myself with all 6 key criteria in the Green Building Index (GBI) assessment tool by providing at least one example of each criteria of a building that uses the principles and systems according to this environment rating system.

GREEN INITIATIVE ASSIGNMENT 1B

I am to initiate, plan and execute a green initiative at my own residential home by understanding the strength and weakness of my home building and how to improve the GBI rating of it for a better stay and a brighter future.
